About ME

From the time I was a young child until I went to college I spent every Sunday afternoon 'creating' with my Grandma and two aunts. I would listen to them gossip about the goings on in our small town in upstate NY while we painted, crocheted, made doll houses or created creatures out of household items. Whatever we decided to build or create each week, it was always inspired.  I learned the value of collaboration and how working with others who share a common goal can give birth to something unexpected and great.

I graduated from our small group gatherings on Sunday afternoons to attending Syracuse University where I studied Surface Pattern Design, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I will never forget my very first 'ah ha' moment when I stumbled across some of the graduate students' work from the department. I knew immediately that surface pattern was what I wanted to study. That degree led me to a career in textile design.

    Double knit pattern, striping three yarn colors to add interest and value in a lower priced textile.

    Created this thistle coloration utilizing multiple yarn colors. Was most popular and requested coloration at ISPA 2022.

    Double knit with 45 ends of inlay to create loft.

    Pretty leaf pattern on the diagonal. Double knit with spun heather face yarn.

    Double knit paisley motif formed with textures.

    Double knit. Use of different line thickness to add dimension.

    Striped yarns and different line thicknesses add interest to this leaf motif.

    Double knit construction with medallion motif.

    Geometric pattern with LDPE Face to achieve cool hand.

    Contemporary motif in blister knit.

    Plexus construction combining different tuck stitches. Improved air permeability and a good substitute for spacer knits.

    This painting was created using gouache and airbrush. 27" x 13" half drop repeat

    This was an exercise in detail and use of color. Medium: Gouache

    The objective of this piece was to use colors that I would not normally pair together. 27" x 13" half drop repeat.

    Ruling pen and airbrush were used to create this stripe

    Layout was my main concern in this painting. I wanted the blooms to look like they would in nature or if they were growing on a bush. Medium: Gouache.
